My Bees - A new hobby in 2025

I’ve just started my journey into beekeeping with my very first hive, and it’s already fascinating to see how the colony works together like a well-orchestrated machine. Inside the hive, every bee has a role: the queen lays eggs and keeps the colony’s population strong, worker bees take on tasks from nursing young to foraging for nectar and pollen, and drones exist mainly to mate with queens from other colonies. The hive’s survival depends on this cooperation, with workers even regulating temperature and defending the entrance. As a new beekeeper, one of the first lessons is patience—since the bees need time to build up their population and store food for winter, I won’t be harvesting honey this first year. Instead, it’s all about learning the rhythms of the hive, supporting their health, and watching this small but mighty community grow.
